Kwartetten van Telemann en Guillemain. Tijdens zijn verblijf in Parijs speelde Telemann klavecimbel graag met drie andere virtuoze instrumentalisten: traverso, viool en viola da gamba. Hij componeerde muziek voor deze klankrijk combinatie instrumenten. Een van de muzikanten, violist en componist Louis-Gabriel Guillemain, schreef ook prachtige kwartetten, waar tegenwoordig ten onrechte nauwelijks meer aandacht voor is.

Naast muziek uit de Duitse barok speelt Fantasticus ook muziek die in dezelfde tijd in Frankrijk en Italië werd gecomponeerd. Stukken waarin componisten hun fantasie de vrije loop lieten, zoals Marin Marais in het dromerige stuk ‘La Rêveuse’ (de dromer). Giuseppe Tartini verwerkte in zijn ‘Sonata il trillo de Diavolo’ muziek die hij naar eigen zeggen in een droom hoorde. Dit stuk vol vingervlugge virtuositeit en tomeloze passie geldt nog altijd als een van de beroemdste vioolsonates van de barok.
